25th Anniversary of Worker's Compensation
Industry professionals gathered at a conference in Wisconsin in 1936 to celebrate the
25th anniversary of the issuance of the first workers' compensation insurance policy.

Stay tuned to this “Events” page in the months ahead as we gear up for the 2011 centennial year.  We’re currently planning a wide variety of events and programs, and we welcome your ideas and suggestions for a great centennial year!

The Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group, and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys will celebrate the Centennial with a special event, Making History: Celebrating 100 years of Workers’ Compensation, on April 7, 2011.  The symposium will include a keynote address from Lex Larson, author of the treatise Larson: Workers’ Compensation Law, and remarks from other workers’ compensation thought-leaders.

The centennial celebration will culminate at the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) Annual Convention on August 22-25, 2011 in Madison, Wisconsin. Workers’ compensation leaders from across the nation will gather to celebrate the achievements of the past 100 years and reflect on the future of workers’ compensation in the United States and around the world.
